• A Day in the life with Malia Murphey

There’s simply nothing not to love about the North Shore…

After a night of celebrating in style at the Surfer Poll awards, it was time to wind down and take a stroll with the girl to know on the North Shore for a serious dose of know-how.

Our little local guide, Malia Murphrey took us for a day-trip to her favorite secret spots on the fabled North Shore. We tagged along and took notes…

First stop? Hale’iwa to fuel up at Malia’s place of work, Haleiwa Bowls, for the best acai bowls ever, in the cutest town ever. It’s the kind of place that ‘If you know, you know’ and the perfect way to kick off the day.

Next stop, Two Crows Surfboard Factory for an eyeful of vibrant color, gorgeous boards and inspired-art, leaving Malia with the tough debacle - which . one . should . we . pick…. The answer was a custom longboard with shades of blue just in time for Christmas.

Then it was time to grind before hitting the beach, so we quickly filled up at Waialua Bakery on sandwiches, cookies, smoothies, freshly squeezed lemonade and then some…

We hit a bit of traffic, so we made a pit stop to cool off at Sunset Beach because any excuse to live a bikini kinda life, is okay by us….
