Get to Know a Grom: Kai Martin
Kai "Kai Boy" Martin is a goofy-footed grom from Kaimuki, Hawaii who is currently gearing up for the NSSA Nationals in late June at the Huntington Beach Pier. He's no stranger to competition, though, with a few regional NSSA wins under his belt so he's gotta be feeling good heading into his next competition. We wanted to get to know Kai Boy a little better before he takes to the water in Huntington so we asked him a few questions -
What’s one thing you can’t stand?
If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
Dolphin, I would just cruise in the ocean, explore and surf
Name one female surfer you have a crush on?
What’s the best thing about being a grom?
Tell us your worst grom beating?

What scares you the most?

Would you rather go over the falls on a 30-foot wave or be leg kicked by Luke Rockhold?

I’m adventurous and impatient
What’s the most important thing in life?
What’s the last song you listen to before paddling out for a surf?
