Scented Wax Sachets with wild florals and hints of lavender DIY
Inspired by the whispery shades of wild lavender and notes of floral mixed with soft eucalyptus greens in our Forever Lust Maxi, we’ve created some summery wax and seashell sachets. These sachets are fairly easy to make with just a few simple supplies and are a great way to add a touch of fragrance to your home or bedroom.
For a natural aromatherapy, we chose lavender oil to help promote the health of mind and body. Lavender is also said to improve sleep and can help relieve stress...Yes please! We also ground up eucalyptus for another refreshing fragrant touch to some of our sachets.
Using a mixture of essential oils, dried roses and florals, and freshly picked flowers for a pop of color and some seashells, we were ready to get started.
- Soy wax or beeswax
- Tray mold for your wax
- Essential oils of your choosing
- Dried florals – lavender, rose, eucalyptus
- Skewer or small stick for poking a hole
Start by organizing your florals. Try to separate what you think you may use before heating up your wax. Instead of trying to put everything in one, we suggest trying to mix what might smell good together. This will make you more in tune what type of smells your personal preferences.
Heat up your wax either over the stove top, or in the microwave in a microwave safe container. Start with a small amount first, just to get the hang of it, then you can graduate into making more than one at once.
Carefully pour the hot wax into your desired mold.
The next step is the fun part…
Begin by dropping in your desired amount of essential oils. Afterwards, we added in sprigs of dried lavender and crushed eucalyptus knowing those would float to the bottom and be less transparent. The wax will slowly begin to dry, but don’t stress, you have time to place your florals before it hardens fully in the freezer.
For additional hints of floral sent we added in plenty of dried rose petals, and other small dried florals, and added a seashell.
After you’ve finished layering your sachet, you’ll want to set in inside your freezer for about 15-20 minutes before it’s fully hardened and easily pops out of the mold. While it’s in the freezer, you’ll want to use a small stick to poke a hole all the way through the wax. This will be used to loop your string through for hanging!
After your sachet has fully hardened, you should be able to easily pop it out of the mold and remove any loose wax with a sharp knife. Using a small piece of twine go through the hole you created, knot it, and then knot it again to create a hanging loop. Now enjoy…
